If you were hoping Monday would bring cheerful news about the future of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (http://www.giantbomb.com/stalker/62-616/) developers GSC Game World (http://www.giantbomb.com/gsc-game-world/65-1607/), prepare for a dash of disappointment.
The studio has been acting erratic since reports started breaking about layoffs and the purported cancelling of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (http://www.giantbomb.com/stalker-2/61-32327/). Twitter updates were posted and deleted, and then everything went silent.
GSC Game World has since gone public with what could only be considered a disheartening update.
“We will do our best to continue,” said the company’s official Twitter account (https://twitter.com/#!/gscstalker). “However, at this moment, nothing is certain. Our website will continue, with the forum & tech support. The shop will continue until the nearest planned items sell out.”
The status of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. remains uncertain, as does GSC Game World as a whole. Stay tuned.
